CHC52021 - Diploma of Community Services

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management, and social housing workers who manage, coordinate and deliver person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad direction from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may supervise other workers and volunteers, coordinate case management programmes, or develop new business opportunities.

industry placement

During your studies, you will complete 200 hours of Industry placement with one of Empyrean's partners and learn the practical aspects of your course.

DURATION

During your course, you will study at Empyrean for two days each week for ten weeks, followed by two weeks holiday break for each term, and there are four terms in the year. This training is face-to-face training in a classroom environment. Total 52 weeks (1 year)

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

Completion of the equivalent level Australian certificate/ qualification. Completion of year 10 high school or equivalent.”

STUDY PATHWAY

After completing the qualification, students may progress to study Social Studies or Social Work Degree

ASSESSMENT

Units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools, portfolios, essays, reports, role-plays, practical observations, case studies, questioning, simulation activities and written tests.
